Come learn risograph printing with us!

Risograph (ree-sow-graf) printing is a fun (and environmentally friendly) print-making process invented in Japan that looks like a photocopier, works as a screenprinter, and uses stencils and rich spot colors to create vibrant, unique prints. It’s experienced a resurgence in the the last few decades and we are THRILLED to be able to offer our very first (of hopefully many) riso workshops to come thanks to our “riso-in-residence” pals at FIXER Studio!

Great For:

• People brand new to riso and want to learn — beginner/non-artist friendly!
• Riso fans who want a refresher & some printin’ fun
• Anyone who wants to take a future intermediate riso class/workshop with us

Class Description:

• Crash course into risograph history
• Overview + print demonstration of how these machines work (with all their quirks)
• Share print inspiration, favorite mark making tools, and provide other materials for print-making and how to use them for riso
• Create & print an edition of 2-color prints to share with the class & take home!
  
• Print size is 4.25" x 5.5" (folded) or 8.5" x 5.5" (flat)

Supplies Provided:

• We'll provide a slew of making tools, pens, paper, collage materials, and more!

Supplies to Bring:

• Snacks, drinks in closed containers, and an eagerness to learn!

Supplies to Not Bring:

• This workshop is analog so leave your digital tools/laptops/ipads at home and get ready to work with your hands!

Optional Supplies:

• If you have a favorite darker marker, bring it to experiment.

This class is led by Sara DeRose & Morgan Calderini.

Registration is non-refundable or exchangeable. Additional supplies available for purchase at Ladyfingers Letterpress should you desire them. All students receive a 10% discount on all in-store purchases on the day of the workshop.
